WordPress to Astro Migration — April 2026

Kennedy Fire was originally built on WordPress, but ongoing security vulnerabilities in plugins and admin access were becoming an increasing liability. In April 2026 we rebuilt the entire site in Astro — a modern, static-first framework that removes the attack surface WordPress brings with it. No plugins to patch, no admin login to exploit, and no database for bad actors to target.

The rebuild was a natural fit because Kennedy Fire prefers us to handle updates directly rather than log in and manage content themselves. Fully managed means they can focus on fire door compliance — what they actually do — while we keep the site fast, secure and current.
